  • Jason is the Chief Investment Officer for Ark Fund Capital Mgmt.  Jason focuses on investment and portfolio management.  Jason founded a long/short value fund, Kaspar Investments, LP, in November 2007 along with its investment adviser, Dunamis Capital LLC.  Prior to launching his fund, Jason was employed by Highland Capital Management LP, a then $40 billion hedge fund firm.  Prior to joining Highland Capital, Jason worked for FTI Consulting, a global business advisory firm.  At FTI Consulting, Jason worked within the corporate finance restructuring division and directly with the debtors and creditors involved in FTI's bankruptcy restructurings.  Jason has built long lasting relationships with a broad base of private and institutional investors.  Jason graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M with a double-degree in Finance & Accounting, where he was involved in numerous investment think-tanks focusing on investment strategy.

Franklin G. Diaz, Managing Director, Co-founder

  • Franklin began his career as a management consultant, specializing in revenue and business strategy transformation in the U.S. and overseas. He has consulted in the development and implementation of new methods and processes such as client services, long-term/short-term strategy, and portfolio strategy. Franklin co-founded and developed technology start-ups where he was responsible for strategy, capital funding, revenue optimization, and product development. A highly effective, multi-lingual, and experienced strategic business professional whose efforts have consistently translated to an improved bottom-line, Franklin has participated in round-table summits at numerous prestigious academic institutions. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, focusing on Business Strategy and Marketing, from Loyola University, has participated in Bio-Ethics certifications from the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical University in Rome, Italy and has completed additional Executive Education coursework at Southern Methodist University.

David J. Colletti Jr., Managing Director, Co-founder

  • David J. Colletti Jr. began his career in 2003 as a corporate attorney in New York City before moving his practice to Dallas, TX, where he represents public and private companies (from start-ups to Fortune 100 businesses and various funds) on securities offerings and filings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, investments, and other projects.  A long-time investor with a special interest in commodities, he has always been a student of the markets.  He teamed up with long-time friend and business associate, Tarek Saab, in 2009 to aid with the expansion of Guardian Commodities, a leading US-based broker of gold, silver, platinum, & palladium bullion.  David was the featured cover story in Texas Lawyer magazine in the December 29, 2008 issue.  David co-founded and runs a growing retail clothing company.  He is a member of The Council for National Policy and other international business and social interest organizations. David graduated summa cum laude from The Catholic University of America in 2000, double-majoring in Political Science and History. He earned his Juris Doctorate in 2003 from The George Washington University Law School, graduating with high honors.

Tarek Saab, Managing Director, Co-founder; COO, Texas Precious Metals

  • Tarek Saab is an entrepreneur and precious metals expert. With previous experience at Gold&SilverNow, Guardian Commodities, and Trusted Bullion, Saab became CEO of Texas Precious Metals before it was acquired by The Ark Fund in 2011. His writings have been syndicated on GATA, Casey Research, Kitco.com, 321gold.com, and 24hgold.com, among others. He holds a BA in Liberal Arts from St. Anselm College, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from The Catholic University of America. Saab rose to fame in 2006 as a popular contestant on Season Five of The Apprentice after working five years at Texas Instruments, where he was a Marketing Manager for Portable Power Semiconductors.
